Who we are
Miner Catholic is a hub for Catholic college students at Missouri S&T, helping them discover and connect with the vibrant Catholic community in Rolla. From campus ministry and parish life to fellowship and faith-building opportunities, we guide students to the people, events, and resources that support their spiritual journey during college.
Newman Center
Cardinal Newman Catholic Campus Ministry Center, home of the Newman RSO (Registered Student Organization), hosts the Catholic Community for university students in Rolla. St. John Henry Newman was known for his ministry to college students. Founded in 1953, the Rolla Newman Center provides opportunities for students to grow in their faith and become leaders in their home parishes. Student leadership and committees develop a full calendar of retreats, socials, faith dialogues, and service opportunities. Phi Kappa Theta
Phi Kappa Theta is a Fraternity for Catholic students. Its members are taught to give, expecting nothing thereof. Members are built up to be Fraternal, growing in relationship with their brothers; Intellectual, using critical thinking; Social, in all aspects; Spiritual, giving glory to God; and to be Leaders, able to stand up and do the hard things when it matters most.
FOCUS
The Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) missionaries support college students through bible studies, discipleship formation, conferences, and other opportunities.
St Patrick Parish
St. Patrick Parish, founded in 1862, is located at 17 St. Patrick Lane (on the north side of the S&T campus). St. Patrick offers sacraments, worship, education (including a parish school), and community outreach. It also sponsors the Cardinal Newman Catholic Campus Ministry Center (Newman Center) and Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) ministries at Missouri S&T as part of its mission to serve the local Catholic community.
